Liked: "Hearing about
what had happened to fellow classmates over the past 10 years (which
wasn't too much compared to what I expect after 20 years)."
Would do differently:
"Selected different places for the events (you've got that covered)."
High School Memory:
"Graduation! Actually, I
have several dim, but fond memories of: chorus contests & trips; speech
& drama club events; writing a scorching (unpublished) article about the
SGA for the student newsletter; laughing when a certain teacher's toupe'
fell off when he bent over the trash can; finally paying someone back
for hiding my books in the trash can beside the teacher's desk; and,
skinny-dipping at night at the beach during Sr. Beach Week."
Is attending the 20 Year
Reunion & looking forward to "Seeing how much people have changed since
high school. Checking to see who's had plastic surgery & who
hasn't. Winning the award for the "Most Changed". (kidding!).
Since High School:
"Discovering hair
products (Have you seen my senior picture?!) OK - I've been married 3
times - so what? Like they say, the third time is the charm. I
finally found a wonderful husband & recently had a beautiful baby girl.
Non of the awards I've won professionally could compare to those two
things."
Embarrassing High School
Moment:
"Well there was the time
that my friends let me walk around school with a very long stream of
toilet paper attached to my shoe. And you know the girl in the
1983-84 Yearbook Staff photos whose bra is "shining" from the camera
flash for God & all of mankind to see? Yep. That's me. Oh - and
there's the time I had to get onto the Ms. Vocal Music Float during
Homecoming 1983 and my strapless bra went south which meant that I had
to "readjust" in front of some laughing 9th grade boys. I had
"boob" issues in high school. Now, after trying to breastfeed a
baby - who cares?!"

High School Memory:
"This will sound sappy,
but I don't care. It was a day in Mrs. McDowell's class - she kept
me after class one day, looked me square in the eye & told me if I would
take the time to look into my heart I would find a gifted and amazing
young woman there; that I just had to choose to let her out... That was
a point in my life (and we've all been there), when I thought no one
cared what I was really like-that no one understood me. Although
she believed I had great potential, it took a few years for ME to
believe it! I finally did. She still has my love and
gratitude for that life-changing two minutes."
Is hoping to attend the
20 Year Reunion and looking forward to seeing everyone, visiting with
old friends. If not able to attend, it's due to a tight schedule
on a current project.
Since High School: "The
most important thing I've done is been a good mom & wife. My
daughter is headed to college in NY for journalism in a couple of weeks,
so I think I'm doing an important thing by encouraging her to chase her
dreams. What a blast! I don't have any one thing that
outshines everything else in the "exciting" dept. - It's been wild 20
years! I've been a trail boss, an events coordinator, trained
horses & dogs, owned a dog grooming shop; I've become a professional
muralist, and decorative Italian plasterer, done some modeling. My
husband & I are both instructors and own a Faux Painting school here in
Nashville; we've made instructional DVD's; I'm a published author, yada
yada yada-let's just say I'm keeping busy. Moving to Nashville has
been the best thing I've done for myself and my family. I love my
life-it's always changing and we have more new adventures on the
horizon. It's flying by!"
Embarrassing High School
Moment:
"Putting my foot in my
mouth (on a regular basis) while talking to Darryl Mickler in English
class!"
Recommendations: Have
lots of fun. Dance like no one is watching and take lots of pictures!
Comments: "Over the
years I've had people ask me why I just suddenly vanished from school in
the 11th grade. Well, for the record, I'll just tell you this; I
didn't go to jail or get put up for adoption (yes, I've been asked some
strange things!) My mom had some problems, and I had to move to a
group home, thus becoming-dare I say it-a Woodham Titan! But I
still think of Tate as home.
