Everything on this page is
information I have stumbled upon during my WLS journey. I cannot vouch for
it's validity, but maybe some of it may help you as much as it has me. I use
some of these as "guidelines" and always ask my doctor about anything
that is questionable or may affect me in a negative way. Always use common
sense and definitely consult your physician if you have questions or
concerns. I just wanted to put it all on a page where we all could access
it easily. If you have helpful information that I can add, please email it
to me for consideration.

ALSO:
A baseline Dexascan will enable you to monitor that your calcium is
doing it's job. Have one done right before surgery or right after surgery
to establish a "baseline". Then have a follow-up scan done
a annually to monitor this. Getting your doctor to use "hypovitaminosis"
and/or "malabsorption syndrome"
for the diagnosis codes may help with the Dexascan being covered by your
insurance company. |
